3rd National Data Analyst Network (NDAN) Meeting

25 September 2025

The third meeting of the National Data Analyst Network was held as a hybrid event, with participants joining both at the CSO’s Rathmines office and online.

The conference was chaired by Paul Morrin, Assistant Director General for the Statistical System Coordination Unit, CSO. Pamela Lafferty, Head of the Administrative Data Centre, CSO, opened the event with updates from the CSO, including developments on Virtual Data Rooms (VDRs) and progress on the CSO’s Data Strategy.

The agenda featured presentations under the Network’s three pillars:

Communication Pillar

  • Data Strategy for the Department of Education and Youth (DEY) – Eileen McEvoy, DEY

Collaboration Pillar

  • Eurostat Task Force on Earth Observation for Statistics – Sam Belton, CSO
  • Data Literacy Training Programme – Aileen Ferris, CSO

Capacity Pillar

  • Development of the Live Register – Karola Graupner, DSP
  • Update on the One Stop Shop for AI and Machine Learning for Official Statistics (AIML4OS) – Eimear Crowley, CSO

The conference showcased a broad range of work taking place across the public sector, highlighting progress in data strategy, literacy, and innovation. The presentations provided members with valuable insights into how different organisations are advancing the use of data in policy and service delivery.

We now look forward to welcoming colleagues to the National Data Infrastructure (NDI) Conference on 27 November 2025 at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Dublin.
